As you age, muscle tone diminishes in the forehead causing your eyebrows to droop and making the eyes appear smaller, more tired or sleepier than they actually are. A forehead lift or browlift is an operation that raises the forehead skin and eyebrows for a fresh, youthful look.

The procedure not only improves the appearance of the eyes, but also eliminates or diminishes the age-related furrows, creases and frown lines above and between the eyebrows.

Forehead lifts can be done in multiple ways. The standard coronal browlift uses an incision in the hair-bearing scalp to excise skin as the brows are lifted. The endoscopic browlift accomplishes a similar result with three to four small incisions in the hairline area. A temporal browlift can also be used; this operation involves smaller excisions of skin at the temple area to lift the lateral part of the eyebrows.

The forehead lift is often combined with other facial procedures such as the eyelid lift, facelift, or injectable fillers.
